PVN Association

This is the website of the Association of Natural Wine Producers of Spain. We make wine using grapes and nothing else, ensuring that the wine is a true reflection of the land from which it originates.

These points reflect the philosophy with which members cultivate their vineyards and produce their wines.

1. RESPECTFUL GROWING

Agriculture is carried out without synthetic chemical products, respecting the natural cycles and environmental conditions of each place. Common treatments allowed in organic farming, such as sulfur or copper sulfate, are limited to what is strictly necessary, and if frequent use is required, they are reduced by alternating with natural products.

2. COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

In addition to practicing respectful agriculture, members maintain consistent behavior in managing resources such as energy, labor, and water, using them as efficiently as possible. Excessive waste generation is avoided, and energy saving and self-consumption are encouraged.

3. THE GROWER IS THE MAKER

The people who make the wine are the same ones who personally work the vineyard, either owned (preferably) or leased. Wine production with purchased grapes does not exceed 25% and must come from vineyards directly supervised by the member, cultivated in the same way as if they were their own.

4. AUTHENTICITY AND SINGULARITY

Natural wines must purely reflect the organoleptic properties provided by each variety with its own native yeasts, the mineral characteristics of the vineyard’s terroir, the diverse climatic effects of each vintage, and the unique character imparted by the winemaker. Therefore, no oenological products may be used, nor may the wines be manipulated with aggressive techniques that modify their characteristics or remove essential components of their uniqueness—such as filtering or fining—which could mask the aforementioned properties.

5. NO SULFUR DIOXIDE OR ANY OTHER OENOLOGICAL ADDITIVE

Natural wines must not contain any additives external to fermented grape juice (preservatives—sulfites, flavor enhancers—industrial yeasts, antioxidants, acidity correctors, packaging gases, stabilizers, etc.).

6. SAY WHAT YOU DO AND DO WHAT YOU SAY

In contrast to the traditional opacity of the wine industry, honesty and transparency are core values of Natural Wine Producers.
The entire production process is communicated, and official analyses are available to clients and consumers.

7. COMMITMENT TO THE ASSOCIATION AND ITS MEMBERS

Natural Wine Producers share and uphold the principles of the Association and cooperate with one another as much as possible. Members participate in the Association’s activities and its events.
